Daemion studies autonomous cognition.
Daemion research program addresses open problems of intelligence operating without continuous human instruction: reasoning under uncertainty, long-horizon planning, persistent memory, alignment, and machine-agent coordination at scale.
The research problem is architectural, not parametric.
The next century of intelligence will not be defined by larger models. It will be defined by systems that reason over long horizons, coordinate with one another, and operate under sustained autonomy without degrading.
Research is conducted across Core and four internal laboratories. Publication is treated as an alignment-relevant decision, not a status signal.
Six research vectors.
Each vector maps to a gap in autonomous cognition infrastructure.
How does an autonomous system reason about novel problems without falling back to memorization? Core works on reasoning architectures that compose primitive operations into novel solutions, with explicit treatment of uncertainty and partial information.Research office
How does an autonomous system plan over weeks, months, or years, sustaining intent across drift in the environment, in its own state, and in the operators it coordinates with? This is the central problem of Phase II operations.Research office
How does an autonomous system carry context across years of operation without losing fidelity or accumulating drift? Mnemosyne studies long-memory architectures, episodic retrieval, and memory compaction under bounded compute.Research office
How are autonomous systems aligned to operator intent when the operator is not in the loop for the majority of decisions? Core treats alignment as an architectural problem, not a fine-tuning problem.Research office
How do populations of autonomous agents coordinate without centralized control? Vector studies orchestration, role specialization, conflict resolution, and decentralized intelligence under adversarial conditions.Research office
How do cognitive architectures give rise to self-modeling, introspection, and unified agency? Orpheus studies the conditions under which emergent cognition arises in scaled systems. The lab publishes almost nothing.Research office
Publications appear here as they ship.
Daemion publishes when the field benefits from publication. Internal work that informs deployed systems is not published.
